🛠️ Handyman Tip: Rust on your bathroom vent? Dark marks creeping up your walls? That’s not a cleaning problem — that’s a moisture problem. Most builders install the cheapest, smallest exhaust fans they can get away with. Problem is, they’re almost never sized right for the bathroom they’re in. So the moisture has nowhere to go… and it ends up on your walls, ceiling, and vent cover. The fix? Upgrade to a properly sized exhaust fan. CFM is based on the square footage of your bathroom — a good rule of thumb is 1 CFM per square foot, with a minimum of 50 CFM. So a 7x10 bathroom (70 sq ft) needs at least a 70 CFM fan.
